Children of the Otter

Children of the Otter is a suite written by a renowned contemporary Russian composer Vladimir Martynov for a world famous Tuvan ensemble Huun-Huur-Tu, chamber orchestra Opus Posth, and choir, singing the poetry of the famous Russian avant-garde poet Velimir Khlebnikov. The composition is based on Siberian folklore worshipping Otter as Mother of All People and blends ancient Tuvan sound with original music by V. Martynov. In composer’s words, Children of the Otter aims at providing a listener with a path to immersing into the ever-existing stream of music.
