Scythian Stones

 | 2010-09-09 16:00 |

  • English, Ukrainian and Kyrgyz languages

"Scythian Stones" is a musical play about the journey of two girls in an underground world of lost traditions, songs and language.

A joint Ukraine-US production.

"This production combines traditional Ukrainian and Kyrgyz music and songs with modern music, set design and choreography. And although the play features the Ukrainian and Kyrgyz languages in addition to English, "Scythian Stones" is accessible to the American - or any other - audience, inasmuch as the issues upon which it touches are global. Only Nina Matvienko could play the role of the Ukrainian mother so sensationally and precisely. The talented Kenzhegul Satybaldieva, a graduate of the St. Petersburg Theatre Institute, captivates in her role as the Kyrgyz mother.
