Violin Solo - Bohdana Pivnenko
Bohdana Pivnenko (1977) - is one of the most prominent of the young generation of violinists. She was graduated with honours and completed an assistantship programme course from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, studying with Prof. B.Kotorovych and Prof. I. Pylatyuk, and also took part in master classes conducted by V. Tretyakov and Z. Bron, amongst others.
Bohdana Pivnenko is a Laureate of the Interpreters Performers International Competition (Chisinau, Moldova, 1997), Laureate of M. Lysenko International Competition (Kyiv, 1997), Laureate of the National Arts Programme “New Names of Ukraine” and was awarded the national title “Honorary Artist of Ukraine”
From 2000 until 2004 - concertmaster of the Kyiv Soloists National Chamber Orchestra.
From 2001- a soloist of the National ensemble “Kyiv Kamerata”
Bohdana Pivnenko has performed as soloist with the leading Ukrainian symphony and chamber orchestras and presented Ukrainian musical culture at concerts in Moscow, Paris, Vienna, Berlin, and also at festivals such as Berliner Festspiele MaerzMusik , Europaisches Klassik Festival (Ruhr), “Kyiv-Musik-Fest”, the Warsaw Autumn, and the International Youth& Music Festival Vienna (Gran prix winner). The violist has toured with recitals in Spain (including Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona), Poland, Russia, Georgia.
She regularly takes part in the premiere performances of works by modern Ukrainian composers.
Bohdana is an author and producer of projects “Antology of the Modern Ukrainian Music” (8 albums on CD) and “The Return of the Names”.
2000-2008 she was on the faculty of the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. For the last 8 years Bohdana is a member of the international orchestra “The Philharmonie of the Nations”
