Liquid Theatre
LIQUID Theatre is Russia's only theater in Russia working in the site-specific genre. For a performance to emerge, one needs not a play, but an impulse, a subject inspiring dramatic and circus actors, dancers and musicians to create their own performances in the best traditions of the world's street, physical, dramatic and visual theatres. Performances emerge from the space and locations where the actors find themselves at a given moment (a factory, park, apartment courtyard or abandoned building, staircase, museum, etc.) In 2009, LIQUID Theatre was awarded the "Golden Mask" National Theatre Award in the "Experimental" competition "experiment", and won the "Event" Award in 2008, supported by Russian theatrical initiatives.
LIQUID'S performances have sometimes adapted to the conditions on offer, moving from exotic stages set up in factories, on the streets and in museums, to traditional theatre stages.
