Produced the following award-winning films/videos:
“Gogol Bordello Non-Stop” (2008)
feature documentary about gypsy-punk band Gogol Bordello opened to moviegoers in New York City on September 11, 2009. Film has received Jury mention at CPH:DOX (Denmark), audience award at MOFFOM (Czech Republic) and a first prize at MusiXine International Music Film Festival (Finland), and got a US premiere at AFI Festival in 2008. Was officially selected to roughly another 20 festivals all over the world.
“A Film About Anna Akhmatova” (2008)
feature documentary in two parts, premiered at Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York, Dom Kino in Moscow, played at Documenta Madrid, Colombia Documentary Encounters, Molodist Festival in Kiev, Ukraine. It was bought by Kultura TV channel in Russia, and TV channel in Israel.
“Don’t Cry” Black Ghosts (2007)
music video produced out of New York and shot in Moscow in 5 days. Received Hollywood Festival best music video award in 2008.
“A Journey of Dmitry Shostakovich” (2006)
feature documentary, screened at such significant cultural venues as Carnegie Hall (New York), Louvre Auditorium (Louvre Museum, Paris) and Queen Elizabeth Hall (London) and was selected to prestigious festivals such Madrid Documenta, (Spain), Full Frame (USA), FIFA (Canada), In-Edit (Mexico). “A Journey…” had a limited theatrical release in New York City in March 2007.
Educated Harvard University 1999-2002 B. A. Cum Laude Economics, completed full film track in Visual Environmental Studies department. Studied with such film directors as Hal Hartley, Ross McElwee, video artist Isaac Julian.
